Soraya Sánchez is a successful television producer and entrepreneur, internationally known for projects like Premios Tu Música Urbano, the most important award for the Latin urban genre and the successful reality show Objetivo Fama.
She began her career in the field of communications as a journalist for the written press in the magazine Tevé Guía and in the newspaper El Mundo. Later she was appointed Director of the TV y Novelas Magazine, taking Televisa's editorial project to great success.
At the beginning of the nineties she left the written press to start her steps in the world of show production and artist management. She was in charge of the career of the singer Lunna, in addition to producing with great success the concerts of Luis Enrique, Barrio Boyzz, Braulio, among others. By then she had started and created the Tu Música Awards, the only event in Puerto Rico dedicated to the awarding of great stars of local and international music, there were eleven (11) uninterrupted years in which Puerto Rico presented the award to a great part of the stars of international music.
In 1996 she co-founded Acisum Group, Inc. Company dedicated to the management of artists, production and marketing of events.
Through Acisum Group, the careers of Fiel a la Vega and Tego Calderón, among many others, were developed and positioned. She achieved the first meeting of the Gamma Rays after 10 years of absence from the stages, in addition to producing the concert "Un Junte para la Historia", the first project recorded on DVD on the island. Other artists who entrusted her the production of their concerts were Yolandita Monge, Álvaro Torres, Yuri, Tego Calderón, Tercer Cielo, Don Omar and Juan Vélez, among many others.
In 2000, she made a great leap to television production creating ES Television, the production house that has developed large projects in Puerto Rico and the international market among them, the night show "Anda pa'l Cara", "Objetivo Fama" , "This is Gilberto Gless" for the Univisión Network.
In 2010, she moved to Telemundo, with the entertainment program "Dando Candela" that was positioned as one of the favorites for 10 consecutive years, the reality show "Yo Canto", Que Joyita, the show! with Jorge Pabón “El Molusco”, and “Juntos y Revueltos ” with the participation as the first presenter of Jorge Castro for América Teve.
In 2019, she reinvented the Tu Música Awards, dedicating them entirely to the Urban Genre. The growth of this genre in the world music market immediately positioned the award with the participation of stars like Ozuna, Daddy Yankee, Sebastian Yatra, among others.
In March 2019 history was made from the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, reaching 40 million viewers in its two editions 2019 and 2020 and widely recognized by media such as Billboard and the Rolling Stones
Soraya has also created and developed projects such as The Latin Roots, which was the most important salsa music and Puerto Rican food club on the Isla del Encanto and where great Salsa stars presented their music.
